College of Medicine

  Warm Greetings to all.

The College of Medicine (COM) was conceptualized and geared to contribute to the health development of the Kingdom of Bahrain by producing Doctors of Medicine who are capable of providing health care.

The College of Medicine makes use of the Innovative curriculum which provides an excellent program of study, and matches with the requirements of medical institutions worldwide.

The curriculum combines the good points of traditional teaching and the universally practiced Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method of teaching which is provided by highly competent faculty members who are specialists in their respective fields of medical practice.

The first four years of the 6-year curricular program serve as the training foundation that perfects the theoretical education of the students. The last two years are devoted to the clinical rotation of our students in a hospital environment where knowledge is applied.

Students who successfully complete the requirements of the 6-year program of the AMAIUB College of Medicine, obtain the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medicine and Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees, respectively.

A lot of good things has happened to the AMAIUB College of Medicine. Recently, it has been recognized and listed in the Avicenna Directory of WHO-recognized medical schools. This means that the College of Medicine is now recognized as one of the institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain providing world class medical education for future doctors.
