AMAIUB hosts the 4th IEEE International Conference on Engineering Technologies and Applied Sciences


Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Majid Bin Ali Al Noami, Minister of Education, Kingdom of Bahrain,  the 4th IEEE International Conference on Engineering Technologies and Applied Sciences was hosted by AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB)  on November  29 – 30, 2017.

With  the theme, “Engineering, Technologies and  Application of Applied Sciences are Driving our Future”, the conference provided avenues for the sharing of novel ideas and research findings in the field of engineering, technologies, applied sciences. It also fostered  multidisciplinary exchange by researchers and developers as well as research students and professional experts.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulghani Ali Saleh Alshowaikh, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council (HEC), delivered his inspirational speech during the conference’s opening program. He warmly welcomed the conference participants, comprised of academicians, scientists, industry practitioners, and researchers from the different parts of the world. He also thanked AMAIUB for constantly seeking to interact positively with research endeavors especially on the areas of engineering and technological sciences and their applications since these are fundamental pillars in the advancement and sustainable development of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr. Abdulghani also underscored the role of higher education and scientific research. According to Dr. Abdulghani, the HEC  uses as an integrated approach for  the development of competencies and skills by supporting the formation and preparation of the students in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship and contributing to provide suitable job opportunities.  He also added that it is the responsibility of the higher education institutions to exert efforts in prioritizing scientific and practical skills needed by the labor market.

The keynote speakers were composed Prof. Baillargeat Dominique, Director of National Center for Scientific Research, University of Limoges , France; Dr. Saleh Alshehri, Director of Research and Applied Sciences Center, Jubail University College; and Prof. Dato Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, the President and Chief Executive Officer, Universiti Kuala Lumpur.

The parallel sessions were divided into two categories, namely: IT and Computing, and Engineering.

The participants’ presented papers will be included  in the  IEEEXplore Digital Library and the extended version of all papers will also  be submitted to Scopus and ISI Journals.

The said conference was is in cooperation with the Engineering Technology and Social Science Management and the IEEE student branch  of International Islamic University of Malaysia.
