AMA University’s students bag major awards in the 3rd GCC Robotics Challenge


AMA International University-Bahrain’s (AMAIUB) teams composed of the College of Engineering students bagged the 3rd and 4th places in the regional round of the 3rd GCC Robotics Challenge held on April 21, 2018 at the University of Bahrain.

The two teams from AMAIUB that won the 1st and 2nd place in the local round, represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in the said regional round.

AMAIUB students actively participate in competitions and had won numerous awards in local, regional and international events. In fact, AMAIUB’s team also won 1st place in last year’s local contest and also represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in the 2nd GCC Robotics Challenge where it landed 5th place in the regional round.

Organized by the Institute of Engineering Technology in cooperation with the University of Bahrain, this competition aimed to promote state-of-the-art technologies in robotics and their applications. The said competition also demonstrated advanced recent developments in robotics.

Developments of robotics technology are major advancements in the human scientific endeavors and AMAIUB’s Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Informatics Engineering programmes train students in the design and development of different types robots.
