AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB) launched its new vision, mission, and corporate values based on its Strategic Plan 2016-2021, which provides the administrators, faculty, staff, students, stakeholders, and the entire academic community a roadmap for the next five years.
The University’s new vision, mission, and values were formally introduced during
the Vision-Mission Awareness Campaign on February 16, with the theme, “AMAIUB: Reassuring Commitment to Excellence”.
AMAIUB’s new vision statement, which articulates its aspirations, is guided by its Strategic Plan. The statement says: AMAIUB’s new vision statement, “AMAIUB will be recognized in Bahrain, the region and globally for delivering relevant, innovative and quality education producing competent, professional and entrepreneurial graduates” .
The Strategic Plan is grounded in the University’s identity as a provider of relevant, innovative, and quality education and it genuinely affirms its mission statement: “AMAIUB delivers relevant, innovative, and quality education to fit-for-purpose students through its programmes which are committed to pursuing practical knowledge and skills, delivering curricula that are responsive to socio-economic requirements of Bahrain and the region, and producing entrepreneurial graduates imbued with life-long learning, and professional and ethical values. AMAIUB fosters excellence in teaching and learning, research, and community engagement to achieve local, regional and global recognition”.
In all that it does, the University adheres to its corporate values, namely: Excellence and Quality, Professionalism, Creativity and Innovation, Growth and Development, Commitment and Engagement, Collaboration, and Integrity.
The Vision-Mission Awareness Campaign was highlighted by an Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP) Competition which aimed to showcase students’ innate and creative skills on areas of communication, art, and technology. These AVPs were conceptualized by the students of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences (CAFS), College of Engineering (COE), College of Computer Studies (CCS) , and Center for General Education (CGE) based on the new vision, mission, and values of AMAIUB, with the supervision of the faculty members from each college or center.
The AVPs were deemed to be very effective in disseminating AMAIUB’s vision, mission, and values not only to its academic community but also to its external stakeholders.
AVP entries were uploaded on the AMAIUB’s Facebook account and winners were determined based on the FB shares and on – the spot judging. The CGE’s Team 1 and Team 2 entries bagged the first and second place, respectively while the COE team won the third place.
The said event was attended by the University officers, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and employers, among others.
With the launching of its new vision, mission, and corporate values, the University has successfully noted new challenges and opportunities ahead and has consciously recognized that it has to change, adapt, and grow to harmonize with the socio-economic needs of Bahrain, the region, and the global society.
