AMAIUB team bags “Special Award for Design Excellence” in the 4th IET GCC Robotics Challenge – Regional Round in Dubai


 

AMA International University – Bahrain (AMAIUB) team won “Special Award for Design Excellence” in the fourth IET GCC Robotics competition – Regional Round on Wednesday, April 6, 2019 at the Canadian University, Dubai – UAE.

AMAIUB team represented the Kingdom of Bahrain after bagging the 1st place in the local round. Despite some unexpected circumstances prior to the regional event, the team remained intact with their creativity, innovation and synergy leading the team to notch up such special award.

Once again, AMAIUB takes pride in commending its engineering students, namely Mohammed Salem, Abdulrahman Jaweed, Rwawan K. Bakro and Faizaan M. Mustafa and their coach, Dr. Rajkumar Palaniappan, who expertise in robotics and Mechatronics for their exemplary teamwork.

Prof. Husham Ahmed, the Dean of the College of Engineering, affirmed that participation of AMAIUB students to such highly skilled competitions increases their engagements, extends their knowledge, competency, determination, experiences on the interplay between theory, practical, and hands-on knowledge in robotics  for more life-long learning. Further, he added that participating in such events comply with the AMA International University’s mission to achieve local, regional and global recognition.

Similarly, Dr. Walid ElFezzani, the Mechatronics Engineering programme head, emphasized that AMAIUB students get motivated and acquire an overview regarding the application of the theoretical through their active participation to competitions. Moreover, they get to overcome challenges in their studies and shape their future career well.
