COE students bag 1st, 2nd places in GCC Robotics Challenge Local Round


AMA International University-Bahrain’s (AMAIUB) teams composed of the College of Engineering (COE) students  bagged the 1st and 2nd places in the local round of the 3rd GCC Robotics Challenge held on March 19 at the University of Bahrain.

Organized by the Institute of Engineering Technology in cooperation with the University of Bahrain, this competition aimed to promote state-of-the-art technologies in robotics and their applications.  The said competition also demonstrated advanced recent developments in robotics and featured six different types of robots.

The two teams from AMAIUB bested other teams from various universities and institutes in the Kingdom. The 1st placer, the Terminator team composed of Hamda Maqsood, Rawan Bakro, Faizaan Mustafa, Abdulrahman Jawed, and Mohammed Nadeem,   will officially represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in the regional round of GCC Robotics Challenge which will be hosted this year by the Kingdom of Bahrain and  on April 21 at University of Bahrain.

Developments of robotics technology are major advancements in the human scientific endeavors and AMAIUB’s Mechatronics Engineering and Informatics Engineering programmes  train students  in the design and development of different types robots.

AMAIUB’s students actively participate   in competitions and had won numerous awards in local, regional and international events. In fact, the University’s team also won first place in the last year’s  contest and represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in the 2nd  GCC Robotics Challenge.
