  Computer Science  
  With the everchanging advancements in information technology pervading all aspects of industry, there arises an exigency to prepare students in order for them to play a variety of mission-critical roles in leveraging the power of technology across industry. The Computer Science Programme of the AMA International School of Bahrain is a ladderized program which aims to prepare students to apply the concepts and theories of computer science into their choice of industry. The program of study in computer science is designed to increase the level of understanding from the first year to the last, thus, producing technically proficient professionals in every level.  

  Diploma in Computer Science

The Diploma in Computer Science is a three-trimester course that aims to provide students a solid foundation in the arena of computing – knowledge about the concepts of computer hardware, software and peopleware ; skills in basic and advanced programming; understanding the impact of the internet – not to mention the inclusion of a stable bedrock in mathematics and communication. The subjects taken up during this period enables them to become information technology literate and prepares them towards the next level leading to a bachelor's degree.
 

  Associate in Computer Science

The Associate in Computer Science is another three-trimester course offered to students who have earned Diploma in Computer Science. As the next level towards the degree in Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, the course aims to provide advanced studies in theoretical and applied technologies – simulation and modeling, object-oriented programming, e-commerce, data communications, artificial intelligence – culminated by a documented project in systems analysis and design.
 

  Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree is awarded to students who have completed all the academic requirements set forth for the course after having earned Associate in Computer Science. The topics covered up during this three-trimester course focus on project management and systems development and implementation, advanced theoretical studies on algorithms and graphs, theoretical and applied concepts of operating systems, and professional ethics. The course is culminated by a special project which is presented and defended orally.
