AMAIUB College of Medicine’s third-year students Nada Kamal, Jassim Hasan, Abdulrahman Al Awadi, and Amr Abdulla attended in the recently held International Conference on Obesity and Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at the Intercontinental Regency Hotel in Manama, Bahrain. They were joined by CoM dean, Dr. Joel Beleno, and part- time CoM faculty Dr. Mohamad Al-Khateeb of American Mission Hospital.

Topics that were of most interest to the students included the latest Middle East statistics on obesity, as well as recent surgical trends in bariatric surgery.
