The Induction Day for new students of AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB) was held on September 16 at the University Atrium.
The activity, which is spearheaded by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), acquaints the students with their new academic environment and assists them in their transition to university life, especially the first few weeks which are crucial to their success at AMAIUB.
Dr. Amin El Meligi, Dean of OSA, provided information on the rights and roles of the students and the rules and regulations that they have to abide while they are in the University as stipulated in the Student Handbook. Dr. Amin also gave them significant tips on how to enjoy and make the most of their university life through the various activities in sports, clubs and societies, entrepreneurial or volunteering endeavors which they can actively participate.
The respective deans of the different colleges also discussed the various programme offerings, degree facts, and the prospective career directions that one may pursue upon the completion of the academic requirements.
AMAIUB offers business programmes, namely: Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in International Studies, and Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics which are accredited by European Council for Business Education. The University’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Science programme and the Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering programme are accredited by ABET. These internationally accredited programmes have provided the youth with essential skills, professional competencies, and attitudes which are important facets of employability. The University has already produced thousands of competent, professional, and entrepreneurial graduates who are considered as significant assets of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s knowledge economy and drivers of the socio-economic development of the region and the world.
After the series of talks and presentations, the students had a tour of the University’s extensive facilities and state-of-the-art laboratories. The said activity was also attended by the University officers, faculty, and support staff.
The Induction Day is conducted every trimester to welcome the newest members of AMAIUB’s academic community.
