AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB), through the Deanship of the Student Affairs (DSA), recognized and honored all its students who excelled in different events and competitions locally, regionally and internationally for the Academic Year 2018-2019.
Dr. Amin El-Meligi, the Dean of Student Affairs, acknowledged the efforts of the students in their active participation to the different competitions such as Huawei ICT, Robotics, Hackathon and sporting events among others. Moreover, he confirmed that AMAIUB administration, faculty members and staff have been witnesses on how the students work hard to notch their recognition and experiences despite the pile of academic coursework that they need to complete in their respective courses.
The awarding ceremonies took place after the AMAIUB Got Talent 2019 at the University Auditorium on July 25 with Dr. Buena Gracia Canzana, the Vice President for Administration and Finance, and Dr. Geraldo Talisic, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, as the awarding bodies assisted by Dr. Amin El-Meligi and Student Council officers.
Waleed Yousef Al Busmait, an engineering student of AMA International University – Bahrain (AMAIUB), together with two students from other universities, ranked third in the successfully concluded Huawei ICT Competition Global Final in Shenzhen, China on May 25-26, 2019. Prior to the final round, Waleed and his team bagged the second place in the Huawei ICT Competition Middle East in China last year.

AMAIUB basketball team bagged the third place in the 2019 National Tournament for Universities, which was organized by Bahrain University Sports Association through the initiative of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. AMAIUB football and volleyball teams were also given recognition for making great plays during the said National Tournament.
AMAIUB computing and engineering students bagged places in this year’s Hackathon competitive events: Brinc Batelco-Injaz Hackathon, Polythechnic Hackfest and Bahrain Fintech Sustainability Hackathon.
AMAIUB computing and engineering students won the 2019 Programming Competition held at the University of Bahrain earlier this year.
AMAIUB recognized the winners of the different sports activities such as football, basketball and table tennis in celebration of the Bahrain National Sports Day on its third year of occurrence as a national event on February 12, 2019.
